Welcome to Janak Vilas

A New Colour to Udaipur’s Royal Hospitality

Udaipur, formerly the capital of the Mewar State, sits in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Founded by Maharana Udai Singh — hence the name Udaipur — it is also known as the City of Lakes and the Venice of the East. We introduce a fresh taste of hospitality with our newly renovated heritage Hotel Janak Vilas, at Rang Niwas junction near Gulab Bagh on Lake Palace Road.

At Janak Vilas we wish to add a new colour to the bright rainbow of hotel experiences in Udaipur. We serve four categories of rooms with a count of 20 rooms and 2 suites — each beaded with a fine royal experience, from the warm welcome to a fond farewell in true Royal Rajputana style.
